Captain Grimbolt meticulously checked every strap on his weathered pack, the frigid mountain air nipping at his exposed skin. Each breath he drew in produced a wispy cloud of condensation, a visible indication of the arctic conditions he braved. As he trudged forward, his heart thudded in his chest, not solely from physical strain, but also from the persistent worry that gnawed at his determination. Defying the edicts of King Borin Ironbeard was no small transgression, yet Grimbolt was determined to seek out Leo. The very future of Hammerfall Keep itself might hinge upon this perilous decision.

The frigid snow crunched loudly beneath Grimbolt's heavy boots as he carefully made his way through the treacherous and winding mountain paths. Above him, the colossal peaks towered, their frosted summits glistening in the pale winter sun. The landscape appeared desolate and harsh, with sharp and jagged rocks protruding from the snow, and intermittent gusts of wind threatened to unbalance him at every turn. Despite the breathtaking grandeur of the surroundings, an overwhelming sense of unease clung to Grimbolt, making each step feel perilous and uncertain, as if it could be his last.

His senses were acutely tuned, every sound resonating with heightened intensity in his alert mind. The haunting echo of a wolf's cry from a distance, the gentle rustle of snow-laden branches swaying in the wind, and the ominous creak of ice shifting under its own weight all pierced through the stillness of the mountainous surroundings. Each sound seemed to send a shiver down his spine, a stark reminder of the lurking perils concealed within these formidable peaks. With only the distant memory of Hammerfall Keep's safety as his companion, the weight of isolation bore down heavily upon him.

As Grimbolt carefully maneuvered along the precarious narrow ridge, his senses on high alert, a flicker of motion caught his attention from the corner of his eye. Instantly freezing in place, his heart pounded in his chest with a mixture of fear and adrenaline. With deliberate caution, he slowly turned his head and caught sight of them—the Deros aliens. Their towering figures cast stark silhouettes against the pristine, snowy landscape. Their movements were methodical, almost robotic, their formidable handheld weaponry glinting menacingly in the ambient light.

Grimbolt held his breath, every nerve in his body electrified, as he pressed himself tightly against the rough, cold surface of the rock formation. A silent prayer echoed through his mind as he desperately hoped to remain undetected. The Deros beings continued their eerie march, completely unaware of his presence as they passed by, but the encounter had left Grimbolt visibly shaken. The realization of the danger that lurked in this unfamiliar territory gripped him tightly, his racing pulse a constant reminder of the perilous situation. It became undeniably clear to him that facing the Deros alone was a risk he could not afford to take.

In the following days, Grimbolt experienced a continuous state of tension and fear that enveloped every moment. He moved with utmost caution, always hugging the shadows and avoiding open spaces.
